At March 17 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the Minister Hakob Arshakyan presented the results of the implementation of the RA Government programme on High-Tech industry for 2020.

High-tech field, despite the epidemic, recorded double-digit growth in Armenia for 2020. The number of the involved employees has increased with 3.400 new specialists and exceeds 18.700. There are more than 1.200 high-tech companies in Armenia. In the financial period, more than 190 companies were given certificates for using tax benefits. The Armenian startups included about 50mln USD investments in 2020.

According to Hakob Arshakyan, Armenia has significantly improved positions with electronic participation indicator, and compared to 2018 it was included in the list of the countries with highest indices. The pension payment system has been digitalized: the pensions, in Yerevan, are paid with electronic system from September.
